YSOP23 (YOUNG SISTERS OP)

42 Dominican Sisters of Apostolic Life from 13 European countries gathered in Rome from February 23-26 for the YSOP23 Meeting.

For more than 13 years now, the youngest Sisters of the European Congregations have been meeting annually to share life, reflection and dreams for the future, as Dominican women, and preachers in a world full of challenges and in need of light.

On this occasion the Sisters, Ino Rincón OP, from Spain, and Teresa Hielsmayr OP, from Austria, accompanied the reflection under the motto  “Community, a search for truth and freedom” Sister Dustyne Farnan participated from New York via videoconference to share with the sisters the mission she is carrying out in the area of Justice and Peace, together with the Continental Coordinating Sisters.

The meeting strengthened mutual knowledge and bonds among the younger sisters, most of whom are in the initial formation process. Together they will continue to give life to the Dominican mission in Europe.

On Sunday the sisters had the opportunity to participate in the Eucharist with the community of Santa Sabina and to meet briefly with fr Gerard Timoner III, Master of the Order, who encouraged them to continue making the journey with the whole Dominican Family and not to lose heart in the difficulties, whatever they may be.

They have been days full of grace and blessing, which will undoubtedly bear fruit.
