Sr. Fabiola writes a message to Dominican Sisters and Brothers: My dear sisters and brothers, I take up again my personal communications with you as this Lenten season comes to an end and we begin the celebration of Holy Week, beginning with Palm Sunday and culminating in Jesus’ own Passover, a day radiant with Life in which the Church invites us to participate in the joy of His Resurrection. To participate doesn’t mean watching from outside, but making our own the joy of the encounter with the Risen One and sharing it with others as Mary Magdalene did.

 

The Paschal celebration initiates a time of joy, for Jesus Christ has risen as the first born among many to show us the life that awaits us and is offered to us as we make space for the lived expression of our faith. As one of our songs says:

 

The Lord rose and lives in the word

Of the one who struggles and dies shouting the truth.

The Lord rose and lives in the efforts

Of all people who struggle to be artisans of peace. 

 

The Lord rose and lives in the hopes

Of every person who lives believing in others.

The Lord rose and lives in every step

Of the one who comes sowing liberty.

 

The Lord rose and calls at the door

Of anyone who has forgotten the urgency of loving.

The Lord rose and his glory is on the earth

In all those who live their faith without measure.
